Buckroe Beach

Tonight, Tua was introduced to the Atlantic Ocean. We brought her to Buckroe Beach, a small sandy strip along the Chesapeake Bay in Hampton Roads, Virginia. The water was warm but refreshing and the fact that it was past bedtime didn't seem to affect the occasion at all.

Post From Kentucky

Dear Reader,

We are all fine and barely this side of roasting here in a record heat wave in the Southeast. It is 101 degrees. Hot" is the best modifier in this situation. Bugs family reunion was great. Pictures can be found at the Waggoner News link to your left.

Birthday cake

Today Tua's cousin Pascal turned 1 year old. The pictures of the event are out of order, as you will notice the clean face of Pascal at the end instead of at the beginning. Tua had fun watching people and sitting in her favorite walker (I'm not sure what the real name is for this toy as we vowed not to clutter our home with every available kid gadget, no matter how fun it might be). We are leaving for Kentucky on Tuesday and will have lots of pictures once we arrive. We will keep you posted!

Visitors

Tua's friend Phare came to visit yesterday. I visited with Phare's mother, Bekah, and enjoyed sharing stories and experiences of living with a new baby. Phare and Tua liked to watch each other, but that is about it. Until they are older, we have to make the conversations for them.

Tua is almost crawling now. She can travel across the room and does get on her knees to do so, although I have seen her give up and resort to the tummy scoot. She is also laughing more and making a monster noise that we find pretty entertaining.

Broken Camera

Our camera broke last week! So, hopefully we will find a replacement and get back on track with some pictures of Miss Tutti Frutti.

Mr. Dog

Tua has been introduced to Mr. Dog, my oldest stuffed animal. He was a gift to me when I was around Tua's age. She likes his felt mouth and his helicopter ears, which despite his age, never lay down.
She is also on her knees now but not yet crawling. We find her lots of times on her tummy with her rear in the air, sleeping. She is very mobile and we have had to acquire a heavy-duty bumper to keep her appendages from getting stuck in the crib rails.
