Choice Shots

Having arrived home just moments ago and not being able to sleep yet, I figured that it might just redeem the time to upload a few of my favorite photos from the trip.

This final shot was (ironically) the final and winning shot of the league cup shinty match I attended on Saturday. The game is similar to ice hockey except it is played on turf and you are allowed to go without the conveniences of eye, head, mouth, shin, etc, protection. It is particular to only this part of the world.

we're in ireland for a day taking in sights we would have never seen otherwise. we took a room in a hostel near the city center and from here, we've been able to walk to most of our destinations with no trouble at all... The Book of \Kells is on display at trinity now ---- the 8th and ninth century gospel art is a very rich experience just in the viewing.... then lunch at st james's gate...early night tonight as we've got an early morning flight back to boston tomorrow....photos of this trip coming soon

Highways and Byways

One of the simple pleasures of being in the country is to have a road all to yourselves. Tua had the great opportunity of commanding our little lonesome road in the country by riding in her new "chariot". You can see by the

pictures that she is completely at ease in the comfort of her new transportation. To be politically correct it is very green. In fact, Tua's carbon footprint won't reach very far because of her low emissions and high milage aparatus. But you would have to ask her mom, she is the one who did the pedalling on our little "Route 66". It's red color and plastic sidewalls and wire mesh netting allows Tua to have all the comforts of home. Tonight she even read the mail, or handeled it you might say.

we made it into inverness--- 20 miles today---hard miles but very rewarding to walk into this beautiful city....we;re being fed and sheltered tonight with the gracious McLaughlan family....lots of visiting and we even might take in the highland cup final shinty match tomorrow afternoon....

we're further up loch ness tonight, much closer to the end but still about 20 miles from Inverness, our northern terminus. the rain let up from time to time today allowing us some stellar views back across the loch and ahead to drumnadrochit. the trail has taken a much more challenging demeanor today- lots of steep climbs often straight up the cliffs and crags which border the loch on the north side. we took a break at eight miles today in glen moriston for lunch and then traveled the remaining five miles up the way to where i sit now, lochside at 5:00. We're meeting up with many of the same faces each day as we're all traveling at about the same pace and have arrainged destinations all within about 2k of each other. heading to bed shortly after dinner of tea and bread.

Post from Manito Part 1

This is Bug now, posting from Manito, Illinois. Tua and I are visiting my family while Seth is away. The time away is good and we are enjoying some PBS children's programs that are new to Tua (we don't have TV in VT-that should be a bumper sticker). We have been visiting family and resting, playing with new kittens and swimming. We just received internet access out here on the farm so I will try to post some pictures soon.
