Zoo VT

Vermont is about as well known for its zoological amusments as Kansas is for its coastline. We have no Serengeti upon which to Safari; we have no rainforest through which we might trek; we have no urban jungle with a large animal exhibit including, but not limited to, a bred pair of Panda.

In lieu of these, we have the Wellwood Orchards petting zoo, a small establishment on the outskirts of rural Weathersfield. Insides its confines are a small collection of wonderfully domesticated chickens, a drove of pygmy goats, and a herd of hare, all of which are enough to keep a two year old out of the realm of indifference for the better part of an hour. The following are a few shots of Tua as she ambled about the farmyard today.

Bear Left

There is never a shortage of wild life on the hill. An occasional moose happens by every so often. Deer and turkey are almost part of the landscape. Bear sightings are a novelty, however. Last evening, Bug caught this pair picking over the last of the blackberries in the back yard.

Trips

This is Bug, here. Seth's been very busy doing projects around the house so I thought I would add some pictures of what we have been doing lately. First, We have a picture of Tua with our good friend Ashley. We were able to visit with her for the afternoon while on our family reunion trip to Indiana. There are some pictures on my sister's blog (Waggoner) of our time with family, but we will try to load some as they become available. The next two are of an outing of young mothers with their daughters hiking on Mt. Tom, where I work for the NPS. Tua has fun chatting with all her pals and it is nice for me to get out and see the park since I now work from home.
